Green Pill Story: people getting better via therapy

Deep Dive: Rejection

Got a few of you with my April Fool’s of becoming a DJ - sry, too realistic 😄
P.S. my assistant accidentally removed 100 of my IG followers. Check if you were one of them @alexlovescardio
Green Pill Stories
So, in interviewing psychotherapists, I ask for stories of patients they have helped. If you feel stuck, here is one:
I work with a lot of clients who have significant attachment trauma from their childhood. Any time I work with a client who was unable to connect to others, enjoy meaningful relationships or share intimacy and over the course of work together is then able to achieve these things not only makes me feel proud of the work I do, but brings me great joy for them, that they are able to enjoy the life they deserve.
Highlights of the Week
Meme of the Week:

actually, with good sleep & exercise, your emotional regulation will get better :)
Health Hacks I’m Testing:
No new ones, but lots of friend, family and outdoor time.
What I’m Listening To: Devon Levesque, having lost his father at 16 to suicide, recently bear crawled 26 miles straight [a marathon] for veteran’s suicide awareness. Devon is someone who came up in the NYC training scene by working with wealthy clients, and went viral as an influencer. He used his platform to secure brand deals, in which he received equity compensation rather than purely cash. A few such deals went well and he became financially independent and wealthy.
He now invests in consumer packaged goods and health-tech companies himself as part of a team. Most importantly, Devon and those around him really focus on philanthropy, and not just for the eyeballs and likes. Here is the Spotify URL.
Stuck on IG? One.sec app cut my use from 45min→15min day. (no affiliate)
What I’m Reading:
I am big on anything related to privacy and consumer rights, especially in the digital age. The US, unlike the EU, has no broad privacy protection for consumers.
DoNotPay helps consumers automatically challenge parking tickets and 200 other legal arrangements [bank fees, paperwork, customer service].
Now, by inputting your gym contract into ChatGPT, the AI will send a letter via USPS to a physical address canceling you membership. Unreal and opens your eyes to a new way of pushing back against bureaucracy.
My suggestion:

Many Privacy Policies require a physical letter to request deletion of your data.
Quote(s) I’m Loving:
I can get out of bed without using my elbows at all. My stomach feels hard. My favorite jeans don’t fit, they slide off. Gotta buy new ones. Legs feel stronger walking up the steps. I feel much sturdier when I walk around"

Feel like you know exactly what to do to be “on it” - and feel your best - but need accountability? That’s where I come in. My clients already know what to do, typically, but appreciate having someone checking on them, tracking them and giving them encouragement and suggestions.
Deep Dive - Rejection
We all know the feeling when, after a really promising date, you get the text:
“hey, it was great to meet you but I feel like we should just be friends”Or, you had an awesome interview where you crushed it, only to wake up to an email 4 days later"
“Dear...
Thank you for your time meeting with us. After much deliberation, we have decided to go with another candidate. This was a difficult decision…”One way to look at such interactions - they only saw a part of you.
The company. The date. The sales prospect you cold called.
They saw you for 60 minutes, or less, and decided, based on what they saw then, that you were not right for them.
That is not a value judgement on your entire being, or even anything to do with you.
You played a role of charming romantic partner, or hard-working future employee.
But that was just a role, and the world is a stage, so take a bow, a break for intermission, and then get back out there.
P.S. Just referring you to these resources - no commission or anything like that.
Thanks for reading. Your feedback really helps! This takes me an hour to put together.
